2024 Montpellier Open ATP Prize Money & Points Overview

The 2024 Montpellier Open promises to be highly entertaining following the release of the initial entry list a few weeks ago.

Tournament organizers will now offer prize money to match the depth of the playing field. The €579,320 purse nears that of pre-pandemic levels but still falls short of the record prize money at this event, which was set back in 2020.

Still, the 2024 prize money of this ATP 250 tournament is significantly higher than last year's total by about 3%. This will be reflected in all rounds of the main draw, so players will be extra motivated to do well.

Six of the top eight seeds at this tournament are ranked in the world's Top 50 (entry ranking). For a tournament that is expected to run from January 29th - a day after the end of the Australian Open - it is obviously a massive coup for the event.

The likes of Andy Murray, Felix Auger-Aliassime, Lorenzo Musetti (top seed), and former champions Alexander Bublik and Gael Monfils will be gunning to lift the title. But the ATP's undercards cannot be underestimated.

So watch out for the fast-rising Alexander Shevchenko, who has been a perennial threat on hard courts, and the returning Borna Coric to spring a surprise. British lefty Jack Draper is also a potential dark horse to win the tournament.

The prize money breakdown is as follows. The champion in Montpellier will bank an impressive €88,125, marginally higher by almost €3,000 from last year when Jannik Sinner walked away with the title. Additionally, the winner will receive 250 ranking points.

A runner-up will be awarded 165 points and €51,400 in prize money, while each losing semifinalist will pocket €30,220 in addition to 100 points. Prize money distribution in the main draw will begin in the second round. Those players will be remunerated €10,165 for their efforts and 25 points.

Making the quarterfinals guarantees a paycheck to the tune of €17,510 and 50 points, which could aid a player's climb in the standings. We have tabulated the complete breakdown of prize money and points allocation below.
