From July 21st to 23rd, the Ultimate Tennis Showdown (UTS) will return once again, this time with a star-studded entry list.
After the unique exhibition competition has been away for a while, it returns once again, and it won't disappoint as the best players competing on the ATP Tour will meet at the Dignity Health Sports Park in Carson, California in the United States from July 21st to 23rd, 2023.
Two players that can deliver a real show were also the first two announced. Nick Kyrgios and Taylor Fritz, nicknamed King Kyrgios and The Hotshot, were both set to compete at the Ultimate Tennis Showdown in Los Angeles, but only until the Australian withdrew from the tournament, and was replaced by Benoit Paire.
Frances Tiafoe, or Big Foe, is another player that can deliver a show, and it wasn't a surprise when he was the third player announced before another American joined the list. Ben Shelton is the name, and like every player at the UTS, he also has his nickname, The Mountain.
Making his debut at the unique competition will be the history maker Yibing Wu, who became the first Chinese man to win an ATP title. The Chinese player will be nicknamed The Great Wall, resembling the famous sight of his country.
El Peque is another player that will make an appearance in Los Angeles. Are you wondering who is it? It can't be anyone else but short but intense Argentinian Diego Schwartzman, who will also compete at the competition.
Is the list short of some showmen you think? You're wrong, but let's add a few more as Alexander Bublik, or The Bublik Enemy, and Gael Monfils, or La Monf, will both join the 2023 Ultimate Tennis Showdown in Los Angeles.
Those eight players will be divided into two groups in which they will compete in the round robin matches, before moving to elimination stages. Fans will be able to see Taylor Fritz, Benoit Paire, Yibing Wu, and Diego Schwartzman in Group A, while Frances Tiafoe, Ben Shelton, Alexander Bublik, and Gael Monfils will compete in Group B.
