The 2023 Swiss Indoors will run from October 23 to 29, assembling 32 players in a highly competitive field for the last stop of the ATP 500 events this season.

The draw for this year's tournament has been released and there are a plethora of exciting matches that could have a substantial change in the rankings and the ATP Race. In addition to vying for a huge share of €2,196,000 of prize money, 500 ranking points will be up for grabs.

Holger Rune is the top seed at the event. He has earned a rematch against Miomir Kecmanovic in the first round of the Swiss Indoors. The Serbian ended Rune's title defense in Stockholm this week, and a repeat of the same result in Basel will be a massive setback in the Dane's quest to qualify for the ATP Finals.

Another ATP Finals aspirant is Taylor Frtiz who is in Rune's half of the draw. Fritz will be keen to bounce back from his own unsuccessful title defense in Tokyo when he faces Australia's Max Purcell. His projected second-round opponent is home-crowd favorite Stan Wawrinka.

However, the Swiss will need to win his opening match against a qualifier. Still, in the top half, defending champion Felix Auger-Aliassime has taken a late wild card to stop his massive rankings fall. He'll face Swiss lefty Leandro Riedi in his opener.

Andy Murray is making a rare appearance in Basel and will play Germany's Yannick Hanfmann who has enjoyed a career-best season in 2023. The former World No. 1 is slated to meet Sebastian Korda in the second round. The lanky American is a massive favorite to edge out Tomas Martin Etcheverry in his first match.

In the bottom half, Norway's Casper Ruud takes centre stage. Ruud is in the conversation to qualify for Turin but he is in a very tough draw. This week could make or break his chances. He will face the unpredictable Kazakh Alexander Bublik in his opener and might run into the red-hot home player Dominic Stricker.

The highest seed Ruud will face is seventh seed Nicolas Jarry who is a nightmare opponent in these conditions. But the Chilean could have his hands full in his opening match against the wily French lefty Adrian Mannarino, a title winner on indoor hard courts in Astana just a few weeks ago.

Alex de Minaur lost in the Tokyo quarterfinals, and it looks like his hopes of making it to Turin have dissipated. But he'll be aiming to finish the season strongly at a familiar tournament. A finalist in Basel in 2019, the fastfooted Aussie will meet Diego Schwartzman for the second time in as many weeks.

Shanghai champion Hubert Hurakcz is another player looking to atone for his mishap in Tokyo. Hurkacz will confront Serbian one hander Dusan Lajovic in his first match. For a comprehensive breakdown of the 2023 Swiss Indoors draw, be sure to check it out below.
