The 2023 Estoril Open will reward players with over €600,000 in prize money. The details of the prize money and points distribution have been revealed.
The Estoril Open is the first clay-court tournament on the ATP calendar. In fact, it's one of the three tournaments held in the first week after the Miami Open, starting on April 3rd. The Houston Open and the Marrakech Open are held in the same week.
Usually, only the biggest clay-court specialists who can't wait to play on the red dirt compete in these tournaments since they are so close to the Miami Open and the end of the hard-court part of the season.
The entry list for the 2023 Estoril Open includes names such as Casper Ruud, Pablo Carreno Busta, Sebastian Korda, and Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who will be among the top favorites to win the trophy at the ATP 250 event in Portugal.
Players will compete for a share of €630,705, with the winner taking the biggest part of that. The 2023 Estoril Open will receive €85,605 along with 250 ATP ranking points.
The finalist in the Portuguese city will receive 150 ranking points and a well-deserved €49,940. Those who make it to the final four, or in other words, the semi-finals, will take home 90 ranking points and €29,355.
The four losing quarter-finalists in Estoril will all receive 45 ranking points €17,010€, while those that make it at least to the second round will go home with an additional €9,880 and 20 ranking points. There are no ranking points given for a first-round loss, but players will receive €6,035 in prize money.
