The
draw for the 2023
Atlanta Open has been released and it's a star-studded field, especially for an ATP 250 tournament.
Running from July 24th to 30th, some of the best players on the ATP Tour will meet in
Hotlanta as it was called last year by
Alex de Minaur, who is the defending champion, and he'll enter the 2023 tournament as the second seed.
Before the men's event begins,
Coco Gauff and Leylah Fernandez are set to meet in an exhibition match, but players competing at the ATP 250 tournament will focus on their competition, and so will the second-seeded Australian, who will play against
Thanasi Kokkinakis or
Gael Monfils in the second round after having a bye in the opening round.
The top seed at the tournament is
Taylor Fritz, who will start his tournament against the winner of the match between
Yibing Wu and
Corentin Moutet, and home fans will be delighted to see even more action from US players since
Ben Shelton and
recent Wimbledon sensation,
Christopher Eubanks, are both set to compete.
Shelton, who
had his moment of fame at the Australian Open, will play against a qualifier in the first round of the tournament, while Eubanks will want to follow up on the magical run against Andres Martin.
One of the interesting names in the draw is
Kei Nishikori, who will play his first ATP-level tournament on his comeback after
playing two ATP Challenger events. The Japanese player will start against
Jordan Thompson in the first round. To see the full draw, be sure to check it out below.
