The 2023 Atlanta Open promises to once again showcase the best hard-court action at the ATP 250 event from July 24th to 30th.
Every year, some of the best hard-court players come to Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States, and the tournament, which was founded back in 2010, could be also described as an event of Americans and Australians.
That's because of one simple reason, as since its start, a player of no other nationality has managed to win the title. Moreover, only four non-American or Australian players contested a final, and fans in Atlanta are hoping that it won't change in 2023, as players will fight for their share of $737,170 in prize money.
Last year, Alex de Minaur had a very good run in Atlanta, which he ended with a trophy. This year, the entry list for the 2023 Atlanta Open also features a lot of talent, as Taylor Fritz, Ben Shelton, and Alexander Bublik will all compete at the event.
Kei Nishikori, who is making a victorious comeback to tennis, will also compete at the tournament, along with the likes of John Isner, Daniel Evans, and Brandon Nakashima. They will all be fighting for the top prize, which is 250 ATP points and $112,125 in prize money.
For the first-round exit, players won't get any points; however, they will be rewarded with $7,905. Progressing further, for making it to the second round, they will get 20 points along with $12,940.
All four losing quarterfinalists will get 45 points and $22,280, and those that make it to the semifinals will get 90 ranking points and $38,450. The runner-up at the tournament will get 150 points and $65,405, and to see the full prize money and points distribution for the 2023 Atlanta Open, check it out below.
