The 2022 Stuttgart Open, which will run from June 6th to 12th, is the first grass-court tournament in the 2022 ATP calendar alongside the Libema Open.
Details of prize money for this year's event have been revealed. The tournament organizers have confirmed the financial package as 692,235€ that will be handed to all competing players from qualifying and to the main draw.
A long list of tennis greats have triumphed at the Stuttgart Open, including former World No. 1s Andre Agassi, Ivan Lendl, Rafael Nadal, and Roger Federer.
The tournament has been played on clay for close to a century, but it switched to grass in 2015. This year marks the 44th edition of the Stuttgart Open as part of the ATP Tour, and judging from the entry list, we are guaranteed exciting matchups.
Last year, Marin Cilic defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime in the final of the event as the fans saw players such as Denis Shapovalov, Hubert Hurkacz, and Alex de Minaur.
The two men who contested last year's final will miss out. However, Andy Murray, Nick Kyrgios, Matteo Berrettini, and Hubert Hurkacz will play. The quartet has the game to excel on this surface.
This year, the champion of the Stuttgart Open will walk away with a six-figure payday amounting to 105,290€ and will receive 250 points. The distribution of prize money will begin in the first round, but points allocation will be from the second-round stage.
