"We're going to beat Serena Williams" - coach of Harmony Tan on Wimbledon R1 matchup

Serena Williams will play France's Harmony Tan in the first round of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, and Tan's coach, Sam Sumyk, believes the French player can beat her.
Sam Sumyk has been a tennis coach for a very long time and the Frenchman worked with a couple of high-profile players over the years. He worked with the likes of Victoria Azarenka, Garbine Muguruza, Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, Donna Vekic, and others, and recently, he's been helping Harmony Tan.
In the first round of the 2022 Wimbledon Championships, the French player drew Serena Williams, and her coach was very excited about that matchup.
"I think it’s fantastic to play this kind of match. Playing Serena at Wimbledon is a very rewarding experience, which should be part of a player’s baggage. A lot of people never get that chance. Harmony will. And it’s great to have her before Serena retires."- Sumyk on Tan playing Serena Williams
It's hard to imagine Tan shares the same amount of enthusiasm as her coach because she actually has to go out there and face Serena. Even so, Sumyk thinks it will be a good match because both players should be excited and nervous.
"I think both players will be nervous. Serena will be too, given the context. Generally speaking, Harmony will be given very few chances, but that’s not a concern. What can be a concern is that a lot of people will talk to her about this match, she will receive a lot of messages."- Sumyk on the matchup
"It’s up to her to deal with that and to stay very focused. We’ll have to prepare her well for that. We’re not just going there with a smile on our faces and the satisfaction of being there. Hey, we’re going there to beat Serena, after all!"
