Tsitsipas Explains Why He And Girlfriend Badosa Stopped Attending Each Other's Matches

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa are still a couple, but they haven't been attending each other's matches lately, and the Greek player recently explained why.

The two broke the tennis side of the internet last year when they teased the community about potentially dating. Soon enough after that, the couple indeed confirmed that they were dating, and the tennis community got a new darling couple.

It was not Gael Monfils and Elina Svitolina anymore, but Badosa and Tsitsipas. The start was pretty interesting for all involved as they were very public with their relationship, even though they would tone it down as time passed.

Still, they kept going strong until earlier this year when they announced they had split. Many tennis fans were disappointed by the news, but it was an amicable split as the Spaniard explained that Tsitsipas was the right person, maybe at the wrong time.

The breakup didn't last too long because a few weeks after that, they were spotted together again and announced that they were back together. This was great news for all the Tsitsidosa fans.

However, there is one thing that has had many people wondering. They haven't been attending each other's matches that much lately, and many of their fans wondered why.

It was something seen a lot earlier in their relationship, but not as much anymore, and Tsitsipas told the Swiss 20 Minuten why the change occured. It is mostly because of how the schedule works at most of the tournaments, making it difficult to attend all of the matches.

"Sometimes when she's playing, I have an off day and need to train and just get back into my routine. It can sometimes be difficult and drain my energy when I'm watching her game on an outdoor court with hundreds of fans asking for autographs."

It's a sensible explanation because it tends to happen that way. Ultimately, tennis players have their routines, and breaking them can be detrimental to the overall situation, so ideally, they want to stick to what they do best.

Ideally, they meet up after their matches and practices, so it's not like they're not seeing each other for weeks at a time unless, again, the schedule requires it. Another part is an agreement, which Tsitsipas also shared.

He admitted to the Swiss newspaper that he gets stressed out by watching his girlfriend play, so he doesn't do it. He also told her that she's free to come watch him play anytime she wants, but he thinks it's better if they stick to their routines and meet up afterward.

Their relationship works great after they got back together again, and they are looking to continue that.

"I'm also the type of guy who gets stressed out watching her play tennis. This is one of the agreements I made with Paula. If she wants to watch, she always can. But it's better if we focus on our tennis and our training."
