Iga Swiaek and Jessica Pegula's consistency has been demonstrated by both women reaching three quarterfinals in 2022.

It is fair to say Swiatek's season has been more successful overall. The Pole became world No. 1 in April, a position she continues to hold. An extraordinary run of form led to her reaching the top of the rankings.

After losing to Jelena Ostapenko at the Dubai Championships, Swiatek went on an amazing 37-match winning streak. During that run, she won the Qatar Open, Indian Wells Open, Miami Open, Stuttgart Open, Italian Open, and French Open.

Alize Cornet finally ended Swiatek's winning streak in the third round of Wimbledon. The world No. 1 recently said she is sure other players are jealous of her dominance during that spell.

Although Pegula's results have not been as spectacular, she is still enjoying the best season of her career. The American had only reached one Grand Slam quarterfinal at the start of 2022.

Both women progressed to their third quarterfinal at a major tournament this season at the US Open. Wimbledon is the only Grand Slam where Swiatek and Pegula failed to progress to the final eight.

Pegula produced a very impressive performance to cruise past Petra Kvitova in the fourth round of the US Open. It was probably one of the best performances of the 28-year-old's career.

Swiatek had to work harder to beat Jule Niemeier. After losing the opening set, the Pole also had issues in the second but eventually took control of the match to triumph 2-6, 6-4, 6-0.

Despite Swiatek's incredible season, she is still seeking her first hard-court Grand Slam. The 21-year-old has established herself as one of the favorites at the US Open, but Pegula's chances of winning her home Grand Slam at Flushing Meadows should also not be ruled out.
