Emma Raducanu seems to be struggling with injuries more than anyone else and it can be caused also by something else than her body.

Since the young Brit rose to tennis stardom after winning the 2021 US Open, she has captivated the world of tennis and everyone was branding her as the next big star on the WTA Tour. However, the things didn't go as planned for Raducanu and it was mostly due to injures.

Now, another injury forced her to withdraw from the 2023 Madrid Open and that means that she will now drop out of the Top 100 in the WTA Rankings. But that shouldn't be a worry for Raducanu as she's someone that tournaments gladly welcome and getting in shouldn't be a problem.

What may be a problem for Raducanu is who to listen to. Shortly after her sensational Grand Slam triumph, she experienced a time when she worked with multiple coaches over a short period, and due to her previous success, a lot of people want to advise her on her career.

But having 'a lot of voices in the room' isn't always a good thing as former world no. 1, Andy Roddick suggested when speaking about the fellow US Open champion to Tennis Channel. The American first mentioned Raducanu's injury which were usually of a very short duration.

"The thing about these injuries is there’s seems to be a lot of stop and start, there hasn’t been an injury that’s kept her out let’s say two or three months at a time. A week here, a week there but never actually taking away a big chunk of time so hopefully that’s still the case and we’re not dealing with something more serious."

Roddick then continued to talk about difficulties that Raducanu and her team may experience when choosing the best approach to returning from those injuries, and also suggested that it may be the best to listen to one voice with a focus on one particular path, rather than listening to advices from many people.

"I hope she’s getting the right advice on how to go about the program. Not just with the wrist and this exit from Madrid but about January through November how are we going to pace ourselves? What are we going to play? What surfaces am I best on? It seems there are a lot of voices in the room and it doesn’t seem super focused but we hope she gets back and healthy because she is a superstar."
