Emma Raducanu split with German coach Torben Beltz after only five months together, with the Brit pursuing a new 'training model.'

When Raducanu split with her coach who guided her to the US Open, many were left curious about the decision. Quite a few people thought it was a mistake but Raducanu was adamant that she would choose wisely expecting the longtime coach to stay there for a while.

Well, that happened to be five months as Beltz is now out of the picture as the two will no more work together after the most recent decision taken by the British player, who is on the brink of making a Top 10 debut on the WTA Tour.

The 19-year-old confirmed the decision in a statement, which included the fact that the LTA would be supporting her in the interim while she plots her next coaching setup. She said:

"I want to thank Torben for his coaching, professionalism and dedication over the last half a year. He has a huge heart and I have enjoyed our strong chemistry during the time together. I feel the best direction for my development is to transition to a new training model with the LTA supporting in the interim."

Despite being seemingly happy with some of Beltz's qualities, Raducanu has still decided to follow "a new training model," which seems to be supported by the LTA, which has shown the 2021 US Open champion a lot of support before.

The Brit is coming off of a solid outing in Stuttgart at the 2022 Porsche Tennis Grand Prix, where she lost to Iga Swiatek in a competitive match. She is now set to continue her season at the 2022 Madrid Open and the 2022 Italian Open in Rome, where she'll attempt to secure enough points for the Top 10 breakthrough.
