Serena Williams will enjoy a special moment at the 2022 US Open, retiring from the sport, and that deserves a special outfit.

The 23-time Grand Slam champion announced that she would end her professional tennis career at the 2022 US Open. It's been an incredibly successful tennis career full of success, and the American player will now write the final chapter of it at the New York Slam.

Throughout her tennis career, Williams has been known for making a statement on the tennis court not just with how she played, but also with what she wore, and that won't change in her last event either.

In the first round of her "farewell Slam," Williams will take on Danka Kovinic. The 40-year-old American will play her first match on Monday as she will open the night session on the Arthur Ashe Stadium.

Any match that she plays at the event can be her last one, even though she and her fans likely hope she can win seven matches in a row and lift the US Open trophy one more time. For the special occasion, she will wear a special dress and shoes.

Serena will wear a Nike dress she designed specifically for the US Open that was inspired by figure skating and has six layers to represent the six titles she has won at Flushing Meadows throughout her tennis career.

Of course, that is not the only extravagant part of her outfit. The American will wear NikeCourt Flare 2 sneakers, which will have 400 hand-set diamonds put into them.

Like always, Williams will make a statement on the court in her last event, and there's no doubt that her farewell will not only be emotional, but also visually pleasing, given the beautiful outfit that she chose to wear for her last event.

Serena Williams will wear a figure skating-inspired Nike dress at the US Open that she designed — made of 6 layers to honor her 6 past titles at Flushing. Her NikeCourt Flare 2 shoes include a diamond-encrusted Swoosh and solid gold lace deubrés with 400 hand-set diamonds.
