Iga Swiatek and Marta Kostyuk will meet in the 2024 Indian Wells Open semi-finals, with the winner getting to fight for the trophy.
Given the form of both players, this match is going to be very interesting. They met only once on the WTA Tour, and since it was at the Roland Garros in 2021, it doesn't come as a surprise that it was a simple straight-sets win for the Polish player.
However, a lot has changed since then. Kostyuk developed as a player, and in Indian Wells, she's yet to lose a set, cruising past the likes of Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova and Anastasia Potapova.
The same applies to Swiatek, who outplayed Danielle Collins at the event, and she also got revenge for her Australian Open loss, beating Linda Noskova. However, in her most recent match, the Pole showed that she was vulnerable.
Caroline Wozniacki had a great start to the match, leading the world no. 1 4-1 in the opening set before she lost six consecutive games and retired because of an injury. That match should serve as an example for the Ukrainian.
Head-to-head:
They met only once on the WTA Tour, and it was a 6-3, 6-4 victory at the French Open for Swiatek. This will therefore be their first hard-court meeting, but that doesn't necessarily mean that Kostyuk's chances are going to be higher.

Prediction:
As almost any match that she plays in, this one is also going to be on the Polish player's racket. She's just the better player, and arguably the best on the WTA Tour at the moment, and over the past few seasons.
Kostyuk, however, certainly has the weapons to win a set in this match, but it would be very surprising if she won more than that.
Prediction: Iga Swiatek to win in three sets.
