Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova completed a very rare achievement at the 2022 US Open. They now have a Career Golden Slam.

Winning a Grand Slam title is something only a few people manage to do. Winning more than one is quite rare, but winning all four Grand Slams and also a gold Olympic medal is almost impossible.

Only the greatest players in the history of sport managed to complete the Career Golden Slam, and now, Barbora Krejcikova and Katerina Siniakova added their names to the list after winning the 2022 US Open, the last Grand Slam they missed.

The Czech duo lifted their first Grand Slam title at the 2018 Roland Garros and added another one right at the next Grand Slam tournament at Wimbledon. However, then they waited three long years before winning in France again, but they still missed titles from Australia and the United States.

But this year, Krejcikova and Siniakova won a total of three Grand Slam tournaments. It started at the Australian Open, then they added another title at the Wimbledon and finished the year with a US Open trophy in their hands.

Moreover, last year, they won the Olympic Games, so the career Golden Slam was completed. It was a great achievement for both, and even though they won the US Open as the last major, Krejcikova didn't think it was the toughest one to win.

"I don't think it actually was the toughest one. I think we just went step by step. I will say the Aussie Open was really tough for us as well. All the other Slams were tough, too. We just needed the right time to achieve all of that."

Siniakova, on the other hand, didn't want to think about how long it took them to complete the feat. At the end of the day, only a few players have completed the Career Golden Slam at all, which is why she cherishes the achievement.

"There is no right time. We were just working and practicing and trying every time to show our best on the court. This time, we played great."
"We kept working, and even if it wasn't going our way, we kept fighting. I'm just so happy we have the title. I think "keep fighting" is the key. I don't think there is a right time; it's just sometimes it clicks together."
