Coco Gauff, Iga Swiatek, and Jessica Pegula are among the players nominated for the WTA Player of the Year award.

Swiatek's season was the most statistically successful on the WTA Tour. She won the French Open and US Open and stayed as the No. 1 player throughout the year after claiming that position for the first time in her career in April.

The Pole also went on an incredible 37-match winning streak from February until losing to Alize Cornet in the third round of Wimbledon. During that period, Swiatek secured six titles: the Qatar Open, Indian Wells Open, Miami Open, Stuttgart Open, Italian Open, and French Open.

Although she fell to Aryna Sabalenka in the semifinals of the WTA Finals, Swiatek became the first woman since Serena Williams to achieve two records after dominating in her three group-stage matches.

18-year-old Gauff reached her first Grand Slam singles final at the 2022 French Open. She also qualified for the WTA Finals and finished a season inside the Top 10 in the rankings for the first time.

In addition, Gauff enjoyed considerable doubles success with Jessica Pegula. The pair progressed to the French Open final and won the Canadian Open, leading to Gauff reaching No. 1 in the doubles rankings.

Aside from her doubles success with Gauff, Pegula enjoyed the best singles season of her career. She and Swiatek were the only players in 2022 to make three Grand Slam quarterfinals. The 28-year-old also finished as the runner-up at the Madrid Open.

Ons Jabeur has also been nominated. The Tunisian defeated Pegula to win the title in Madrid and was the runner-up to Elena Rybakina and Swiatek in the Wimbledon and US Open finals.

Rybakina's Wimbledon triumph led to her nomination. The Kazakhstani's run at SW19 was the most unexpected Grand Slam title win of the season and introduced her game to millions worldwide.

WTA Finals champion Caroline Garcia is the final nominee. The Frenchwoman also secured the Cincinnati Open title during her successful season.
