At the Billie Jean King Cup finals in Glasgow, Scotland, Emma Raducanu will lead the team of Great Britain.
The Billie Jean King Cup finals in 2022 will include 12 teams split into four groups, and they will be contested from November 8 to November 13. With Spain and Kazakhstan as their opponents in Group C, Great Britain unveiled their national team on Monday, which includes Emma Raducanu, Harriet Dart, Katie Boulter, and Heather Watson.
Iga Swiatek's withdrawal due to a schedule problem will cast a shadow over this year's Billie Jean King Cup finals, but the British team will make the most of this opportunity to compete for the title.
Right after the nomination, questions were raised as Emma Raducanu leads the team, since the 2021 US Open champion had problems with injuries lately and also withdrew from the 2022 Transylvania Open in Cluj-Napoca, but team captain Anne Keothavong believes time will play crucial role.
"I was literally on the phone to her this morning at the airport," said team captain Keothavong about Raducanu's participation. "We have the benefit of time on our side. The Billie Jean King Cup Finals isn't for another month."
