October 10th is the day when World Mental Health Day is celebrated and Iga Swiatek chose a very nice way to show her support to this special day.

At the 2022 Ostrava Open, Iga Swiatek didn't win a trophy but she won 58,032€ in prize money and probably already before the event started, she knew what she's going to do with this money.

Since she won her first major tournament at Roland Garros in 2020, Swiatek has been open about her work with sports psychologist Daria Abramowicz. Last year, during the Indian Wells, she made her first donation to a mental health charity in honor of World Mental Health Day.

The young Pole spoke about her donation already during her runner-up speech, when she announced that all of her prize money will be donated to a non-profit organisation in Poland, but she got back to the topic also during the press conference, when she said:

"I really wanted to play well here to have a big amount of money to donate ... and I'm pretty happy that I could do that," Swiatek said. "I really want to spread awareness and let people know that they can use the help if they need it, or help others if they have resources. I'm pretty happy to use my position that way."
