Although Coco Gauff has yet to win a title in 2022, the young American is probably having the best season of her career so far.

Gauff played her first Grand Slam final at the 2022 Roland Garros. Although she lost the final, it was a great experience for the teenager. She also performed quite well at many other events that she joined.

After finishing last year as the WTA World No. 22 player, the teenage sensation is now ranked 11th, and it's just a matter of time before she breaks into the Top 10 of the WTA Rankings for the first time in her career.

Gauff currently has 2,647 points in the rankings, and she collected 2,262 of those this season. And since there is only one dominant figure on the WTA Tour this year and that is Iga Swiatek, there aren't many players that collected more points than the young American this year.

In fact, there are only two. Swiatek and Ons Jabeur. While the Pole is 5,000 points ahead of Gauff, Jabeur is only 728 points ahead of the young American player, who can soon become a new World No. 2 player.

With the WTA 1000 events in Toronto and Cincinnati coming up, Gauff has a big chance of breaking into the Top 10 for the first time in her career.

Moreover, if she continues to deliver solid results and has a good run at the 2022 US Open, she is in a great position to challenge Jabeur for the No. 2 spot. The World No. 1 position will very likely be out of reach for Gauff in the near future.

However, even if she doesn't, she's still in a pole position to finish the year as the World No. 3 player, and that would be a great achievement for still only an 18-year-old sensation.
