Emma Raducanu is defending the biggest part of her points in the remainder of the 2022 season out of all players in the Top 40 of the WTA Rankings.

84% of the points that 19-year-old Raducanu accumulated come from the end of the 2021 season, especially from her US Open triumph. Currently, the WTA World No. 10 player has 2,717 points, but out of that, she will drop 2,281 by the end of the season.

Out of the 2,281 points, 2,000 come from the US Open triumph, so the major focus of the British sensation will be to go as far as possible at the fourth Grand Slam of the season.

Moreover, as the defending champion, she will face a lot of pressure at the tournament, but in an interview after her loss at the All England Club, she brushed off talks about the pressure.

Despite being the youngest member of the Top 10 currently, the dream might soon turn to hard work for Raducanu, who might need to climb back to the top of the WTA Rankings once again.

If she lost her 2,000 points from the US Open right now, she would drop to 88th place, which doesn't guarantee participation in the WTA 1000 events, and she might find it difficult to also join the WTA 500 events being ranked on the brink of the Top 100.

However, before defending her 2,000 points at the US Open, Raducanu will have a few chances to add some more points to secure her position. She should play the Citi Open in Washington, then the WTA 1000 event in Toronto, and most probably also the WTA 1000 event in Cincinnati.

And even if Raducanu fails to add any more points to her rankings and drops to 88th place, she might find it easier to join big tournaments than other players ranked around her.

The 19-year-old sensation is really a special player, and therefore, many tournaments might offer her a wild card to participate.
