Bianca Andreescu won't be part of Canada's Billie Jean King Cup due to her most recent injury setback.

Andreescu suffered an unfortunate injury during her fourth-round match in Miami just a few days ago. As a result, Canada's team captain, Heidi El Tabakh, has enlisted the help of Katherine Sebov, who is currently ranked 148th on the WTA Tour.

Sebov, the 24-year-old Toronto native, is set to join Canada's Billie Jean King Cup team, filling in for Andreescu, who has been sidelined by a ligament injury in her left ankle. She will join her teammates Leylah Annie Fernandez, Rebecca Marino, and Gabriela Dabrowski in Vancouver, eager to represent Canada on the national stage.

The crucial qualifying match against Belgium is scheduled to take place in Vancouver on April 14th and 15th. Despite her recent second-round defeat in the Charleston tournament to Switzerland's Belinda Bencic, Sebov remains optimistic about her opportunity to play for the Canadian team.

"I am very happy to have been invited to represent Canada, and I look forward to joining my teammates in Vancouver. It's not every day that we have the chance to participate in a Billie Jean King Cup meeting at home, and I hope that my recent performances will give me confidence."

Fernandez and Marino bring valuable experience to the team with seven and nine participations in the tournament, respectively. As they gear up to face Belgium, Canada is searching for its first victory in their fourth encounter with the European nation.

Team captain El Tabakh, who recently returned to her role after giving birth in 2022, acknowledges the challenge but remains hopeful.

"We know that it will be a really difficult duel to win. I believe that it is the desire to win that will make the difference, because at this level and in this context, the girls of both teams will play very high-quality tennis,"
