From July 24th to 30th, players will meet at the WTA 250 tournament in Switzerland, the 2023 Lausanne Open, and fight for their share of prize money.
Overall, $259,303 will be distributed among players competing in Lausanne this year. The entry list for the 2023 Lausanne Open includes home talent in the likes of Belinda Bencic, but also Grand Slam champion Sofia Kenin, and rising star Mirra Andreeva.
Petra Martic is the most recent champion at the event, having won it in 2022, but the Croatian won't make an appearance this year. That creates chances for other players such as Irina-Camelia Begu, Alize Cornet, Sara Errani, and Danka Kovinic.
The event, which was founded back in 1899, is played in a beautiful setting in Switzerland, after the Ladies Open changed multiple locations in the country in the past such as Gstaad, Lugano, Geneva, and Lucerne.
In 2023, the biggest part of the prize money awarded will be, naturally, given to the champion. Along with valuable 280 WTA ranking points, the winner of the tournament will also get $34,228 in prize money.
But the reward for the runner-up is also worth competing for. The finalist in Lausanne will get 180 points and $20,226, while the two players that end their journey in the semifinals will get 110 points and $11,275.
