2022 Libema Open WTA Entry List - Sabalenka, Bencic, Rybakina, Kasatkina & more

The 2022 Libema Open will take place in 's-Hertogenbosch from June 6th to 12th, and the entry list has been revealed.
This WTA 250 event will be the first grass-court tournament after the Roland Garros on the women's tour, with a packed list of fantastic players who will vie to win a title just before Wimbledon.
The USA's Alison Riske outlasted Kiki Bertens in the Libema Open final in 2019 to become the most recent champion. The tournament was suspended in each of the last two seasons because of the coronavirus pandemic but is penciled for this year's grass-court swing.
The two women who contested the final from three years ago won't return. Riske has chosen to play in Nottingham, while Bertens retired from professional tennis last year. Fans in the Netherlands will, however, see a Top 10 player in Aryna Sabalenka, who will be the top seed at the event.
The powerful Belarusian has plenty of competition in her wake if she wants to win her first-ever career title on grass. One of those who will challenge her is Switzerland's Belinda Bencic.
Kazakhstan's Elena Rybakina possesses the artillery to wreak havoc on the rest of the field at the Libema Open and will be seeded. The Russian trio of Veronika Kudermetova, Liudmila Samsonova, and Ekaterina Alexandrova can be expected to go deep at this tournament because of their penchant for fast surfaces.
Elise Mertens and Shelby Rogers will also play. The duo are some of the most versatile players on the WTA Tour, and they are able to adapt to any surface.
Arianne Hartono, Suzan Lamens, and Leolia Jeanjean have been granted wild cards by the tournament. Six more players will join in the main draw from qualifying.

- If Jessica Pegula had to undergo such horror for using a bannes substance, so do these two tennis players. Penalty should apply to all players regardless of their excuses. They are professionals and know better!!

- IDK, it looks like to me that Raducanu should praise herself and her team for 'gaming the system' as in playing the points and ranking game. When you look at her season of wild cards, skipping tournaments (including the Paris Olympics!), retiring from losing matches and avoiding qualifying rounds, it seems like there was some plan to move up the ranks without actually playing a lot of tennis.
