Although the 2025 French Open does not start until May 25th, Novak Djokovic's outfit for the second Grand Slam of the year has already been released.
Djokovic is a three-time winner at Roland Garros, most recently in 2023. He got to the quarterfinal last year, but withdrew before his match against Casper Ruud, which would have been a repeat of the 2023 final, because of an injury.
The 2025 French Open will be Djokovic's next chance to win a 25th Grand Slam singles title, which would make him the standalone leader. He is currently tied with Margaret Court at the top with 24 major crowns.
While being successful on the court is the primary focus for Djokovic and all competitors on the ATP and WTA Tours, they can also look stylish while doing so through their fashion choices during matches.
Djokovic and his sponsor Lacoste have chosen bright colors that match well with the clay courts at Roland Garros. He will wear a red shirt with one slightly different shade of red about one-third of the way down the shirt.
The 37-year-old's shorts are white, and his outfit is completed with two wristbands: a red one on his left wrist and a white one on his right wrist. It is not an overly fancy look, but its simplicity suits Djokovic.
Most fans will enjoy watching him compete in that outfit, but it is still a few months off. Djokovic has much to think about until then after a challenging run of form since he got injured at the 2025 Australian Open.
The ten-time champion in Melbourne had to retire from his semifinal against Alexander Zverev because of a hamstring tear. Some fans ignorantly booed him as he left the court, thinking he was exaggerating the problem.
Djokovic returned to the 2025 Qatar Open a few weeks later. His comeback ended in a defeat to Matteo Berrettini, during which the former ATP world No. 1 was off the pace from start to finish.
Andy Murray, who coached Djokovic at the Australian Open, returned to the role at the 2025 Indian Wells Open. The pair plan to work together until at least the end of the clay court season. Djokovic has already said he would also like to keep his former rival for the grass-court season.
However, Murray's presence could not stop Djokovic from slipping to another defeat against Botic van de Zandschulp. The Dutchman has now defeated Carlos Alcaraz, Rafael Nadal, and Djokovic in the last seven months.
The last of Djokovic's five Indian Wells titles was in 2016. He has struggled at the tournament since then, but often recovers and finds his best level for the Grand Slams afterward, where success means the most to him.
Murray will again be in Djokovic's corner at the 2025 Miami Open. Djokovic's last appearance at the tournament was in 2019, meaning the fans in Florida will be even more excited to see him than most others worldwide.
