Elena Rybakina and Taylor Fritz won the 2025 Eisenhower Cup in Indian Wells, dominating the mixed doubles competition.

Fans of the mixed doubles got to enjoy an evening of great action at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. The best players from the ATP and WTA Tours teamed up in another edition of the Eisenhower Cup.

The Eisenhower Cup is a Tie-Break Tens tournament, which sees tennis players compete in a rapid mixed doubles format. Each match is played only as a super tie-break to 10 points, and all the players stay on the court throughout the evening.

That brings many funny moments, as players are also interviewed during the matches and in between. The tournament once again didn't disappoint, even though there were some changes before it started.

Aryna Sabalenka was supposed to play at the event, but she withdrew. The Belarusian player was replaced by Rybakina, who teamed up with Fritz. Paula Badosa also withdrew from the tournament, and her partner and boyfriend Stefanos Tsitsipas joined her in withdrawing. They were replaced by Daniil Medvedev and Amanda Anisimova.

The first match on Tuesday evening saw Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz take on Lorenzo Musetti and Jasmine Paolini. This is a match that fans might be able to see at the United Cup someday, as it was a match of two Poles against two Italians. Swiatek and Hurkacz won the match 10-6.

After that Tommy Paul and Madison Keys, who appeared on the tennis court for the first time since her Australian Open win, took on Casper Ruud and Maria Sakkari. The American duo won the match 10-6.

Then, fans saw the match of two teams that weren't even signed up a few weeks ago. Anisimova and Medvedev, who replaced Badosa and Tsitsipas, took on Fritz and Rybakina, who replaced Sabalenka. The American-Kazakhstani duo won the match in a convincing style, 10-4.

In the last quarter-final match of the evening, Ben Shelton and Emma Navarro bested the only couple in the competition, Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter, 10-7.

The first semi-final match then saw Keys and Paul take on Swiatek and Hurkacz. It was a very close match, but the all-American duo ended up winning 10-8.

The other semi-final match wasn't anywhere as close. Fritz and Rybakina played incredibly well to win the match 10-6 after initially leading 9-3.

Rybakina and Fritz were just the best team of the evening, and they confirmed it in the final again. They beat Keys and Paul 10-4 to secure the 2025 Eisenhower Cup. Of course, Rybakina was happy about the win afterward.

"It’s really special. I’m glad I was lucky to play here. Thanks to my partner, of course, and everyone who came to watch. It’s a great event. Super happy to be a winner."

Fritz previously won the tournament with Sabalenka, and he was excited to add his name to the list of champions with yet another partner.

"It’s awesome. You come here to try and win it. It was super exciting to play with Elena. She played great. Great to start the week off at home."

The two enjoyed playing together so much that they even hinted at appearing together in the new mixed doubles tournament at the US Open. In an interview with the Tennis Channel, Fritz revealed he asked his partner whether she wanted to play together also in New York.

"I just asked Elena if she wants to play mixed at the US Open. Hopefully, she says yes."
