There were many well-dressed celebrities at the 2025 Oscars, but Coco Gauff might have outdone them all with her outfit at the prestigious event.

Coco Gauff represented tennis by appearing at the awards ceremony. Serena Williams also attended the event, and when she returned, Gauff excitedly shared a picture of the two of them together.

Part of being at the Oscars is choosing a stylish outfit. That pressure can be acute for many, but Gauff and her stylists thoroughly succeeded by picking a dress that generated much attention and was widely praised.

A picture of the dress can be viewed below. Gauff showed she can serve on and off the court with a yellow Miu Miu gown and a gold Rolex watch. It was a stunning and bejeweled look that turned heads at the award ceremony.

Gauff spoke to Amelia Dimoldenberg about getting ready for the Oscars. The 2023 US Open champion admitted that, as a tennis player, she is not used to getting dressed up for events like the Oscars.

"It was a lot. Hair, makeup, the whole 'do. I play tennis so I'm not used to this glam, but it's nice to get dressed for the day."

Gauff went with her mother, Candi. The pair are known to be very close off the court, and the WTA star's parent posted on social media afterward about the great time she had meeting stars like Samuel L. Jackson.

Last year's WTA Finals champion managed to cram that appearance into her schedule before the 2025 Indian Wells Open. Gauff's focus has now turned to going as far as possible at her home event.

The world No. 3 reached the semifinal last year in Indian Wells, losing to Maria Sakkari at that stage. Gauff enters the tournament on a three-match losing streak after being defeated in the 2025 Australian Open quarterfinal and then failing to win a match in Doha or Dubai.

That run was unexpected since Gauff played some of the best tennis of her career in the months before, finishing as the champion at the 2024 China Open and WTA Finals and helping Team USA to win another United Cup title.

However, Gauff's blip in the last few weeks is nothing to be overly concerned about. Her progress under new coach Matt Daly, who replaced Brad Gilbert after the 2024 US Open, is clear, and she has much time to achieve great things in 2024.

Iga Swiatek, who recently created a new website, enters the Indian Wells Open as the favorite. She is the defending champion and also secured the title in 2022, making it one of her most successful hardcourt tournaments.

Although her status as the favorite is deserved, Swiatek may be unhappy by the Indian Wells Open changing its surface for this year's iteration to laykold. The slow and high-bouncing plexipave courts used previously suited her game perfectly.

Aryna Sabalenka will hope to extend her lead at No. 1 by winning the title in Indian Wells for the first time. She was the runner-up to Elena Rybakina in 2023.
