Casper Ruud will play his first ATP season as a married man after tying the knot with Maria Galligani.
Since Ruud emerged as one of the best players in men's tennis, Galligani has been a constant presence by his side. The two-time French Open runner-up began dating her in 2018, and they have been together continuously.
In November 2024, the pair's engagement was revealed. Ruud is quite a low-key and private person, meaning no specific details about their wedding were leaked to the media during 2025.
The Norwegian has previously said that Galligani values privacy and does not care much about fame, which explains why not much is known about her outside the snippets from their relationship that Ruud provides.
How the pair got married, outlined in an article by the outlet Se og Hor, stayed true to their instincts of not being flashy. Last month, they wed at the Oslo City Hall, one of Norway's most popular and well-known spaces.
Although the pair generally do not reveal many details about their relationship, Ruud did post on social media in September about Galligani being pregnant, with their first child due sometime this year.
Ruud and Galligani seem like one of the most stable and happy couples in the sport. Hopefully, they and their soon-to-be-born child have a lengthy and happy life together, with the wedding as another step towards that.

Venus Williams is one of several tennis players who have had notable relationship news during the past 18 months

The legendary seven-time Grand Slam singles champion Venus Williams delighted her fans last year by making a return to the WTA Tour after a 17-month absence, an incredible achievement at 45 years old.
In an interview after beating Peyton Stearns at the 2025 Citi Open, Williams revealed that her then-fiancé, Andrea Preti, played a pivotal role in convincing her to return to professional tennis.
Williams and Preti recently married. After years of being single, including some health struggles that fans were unaware of until the former women's world No. 1 revealed them, it is terrific to see her so visibly happy.
Alex de Minaur and Katie Boulter will join them in marriage sometime in 2026. They have been engaged for several months, and the duo's likeability was shown by volunteering for an organization that helps homeless people on Christmas Day.
Other tennis couples did not enjoy such a happy fate. Earlier in 2025, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Paula Badosa split. They had been public about their relationship, doing interviews together, which might have made their parting even harder.
A source close to the pair said that Tsitsipas and Badosa's respective injury issues had some impact on their relationship. They each share the unfortunate similarity of having chronic back problems, making it challenging for them to achieve consistent success.
In late 2024, Anastasia Potapova and Alexander Shevchenko divorced after just a few months of marriage. Their decision to swiftly wed despite not dating for long before did not work as they had hoped.
