The 2025
Wimbledon Championships men's singles will see
Carlos Alcaraz attempt to win a third consecutive title at SW19.
Alcaraz comfortably overcame
Novak Djokovic in last year's final. That match contrasted sharply with the Spaniard's epic five-set triumph over the same opponent in the 2023 final, one of the greatest Grand Slam finals ever.
The former
ATP world No. 1 is on the
entry list for the 2025 iteration. He entered last year's event with the momentum of winning his maiden French Open title, overcoming
Alexander Zverev in the final.
Alcaraz hopes to win a second title at Roland Garros before the main draw at Wimbledon starts on June 30th. This would further solidify his position as the best clay and grass court player in the world right now.
Many think Wimbledon represents Djokovic's best chance of winning a record 25th Grand Slam. The Serbian is currently tied with Margaret Court for the most major crowns in tennis history, with 24.
Incredibly, Djokovic last failed to reach the Wimbledon final in 2017. Winning this year's title at SW19 would also allow him to equal Roger Federer's record of eight Wimbledon crowns. Djokovic beat the Swiss maestro in the 2014, 2015, and 2019 finals.
Federer's fans are grateful to Alcaraz for twice preventing that from happening. Djokovic turned 38 on Thursday, and overcoming his much younger rival in London after losing two finals would be a phenomenal achievement.
Jannik Sinner hopes to reach a maiden Wimbledon final. The closest he came was losing in the 2023 semifinal to Novak Djokovic.
Daniil Medvedev beat him in last year's quarterfinal, although the Italian struggled physically in that match.
The world No. 1 undoubtedly has a chance of making the Wimbledon final if he stays fit. He defeated Alcaraz in their sole meeting on grass at SW19 in 2022, the Spaniard's most recent defeat at the venue.
Jack Draper is the home fans' most significant hope for a British winner. He has enjoyed a sensational start to the 2025 season, including
winning the Indian Wells Open and finishing runner-up at the Madrid Open.
Nick Kyrgios could bring fireworks to the tournament. The 2022 runner-up will use a protected ranking to compete at Wimbledon. He is not the player he once was after severe injury problems, but could get a win or two wth his best tennis.
Ben Shelton has often been touted as someone who could be very successful on grass. The American had never played on the surface before starting his career, but he reached the fourth round last year.
2021 runner-up
Matteo Berrettini is a very dangerous opponent on grass.
The Italian withdrew from the French Open with an injury, but expects to be fit and ready for the grass court swing that starts immediately afterward.
Alexander Zverev, Daniil Medvedev,
Casper Ruud,
Holger Rune,
Stefanos Tsitsipas,
Jakub Mensik, and
Kei Nishikori are among the other players on the entry list for the prestigious tournament. It should be another memorable occasion for the fans and players.
