The 2025 Monte-Carlo Masters will be the first ATP Masters 1000 event of the clay court season, and the entry list for the tournament has been revealed.

This year's edition of the tournament in Monte-Carlo will run from April 7th until April 13th. It has been a Masters event since 1990 and is popular among players because of its luxurious setting, allowing them to relax when not on the court.

From 2005 until 2018, Rafael Nadal won an incredible 11 titles at the tournament. That achievement is among the reasons he is unanimously considered the greatest clay court player in tennis history.

Stefanos Tsitsipas has dominated the tournament in recent years, winning three of the last four iterations, including last year. All of the Greek's Masters 1000 titles have come at the Monte-Carlo Masters, showing how the conditions suit his game.

Unsurprisingly, Tsitsipas is on the entry list for the 2025 edition of the event. He struggled for several months after winning the title in Monte-Carlo almost 12 months ago, but has found form recently, including winning the 2025 Dubai Championships.

Observing Carlos Alcaraz's performances at the Monte-Carlo Masters will be fascinating. It is the only Masters 1000 tournament where he has yet to win a match, with his sole appearance in 2022 ending in a second-round loss after he had been given a bye in the opening round.

Alcaraz could not compete at the event in 2023 and 2024 because of injury issues. Hopefully, he avoids any problems this year, and the fans in Monte Carlo can be treated to some of the Spaniard's best tennis.

Novak Djokovic is another high-profile name on the Monte-Carlo Masters entry list. He won the tournament in 2013 and 2015, including beating Nadal in the 2013 final after the Spaniard had won the event eight consecutive times.

However, Djokovic has struggled in Monte-Carlo since he last won the title. His run to last year's semifinal was his first since triumphing in 2015, and he has lost before the quarterfinal five times in that time.

Djokovic will likely have his coach, Andy Murray, with him in Monte Carlo. The two plan to work together until at least the end of the clay court season and the Briton will probably attend all of Djokovic's Masters 1000 tournaments.

Alexander Zverev will continue his hunt to overtake Jannik Sinner, who is suspended until May 4th, at No. 1 in Monte-Carlo. Since losing the 2025 Australian Open final, his chances of achieving that have been damaged by early exits in Buenos Aires, Rio, Acapulco, and Indian Wells.

Ben Shelton has an opportunity to develop his clay court game further at the Monte-Carlo Masters. The American's best surface by far is hard courts, but he showed signs of becoming comfortable on the dirt last year.

Jack Draper is another young star on the entry list. The 23-year-old reached the final of last month's 2025 Qatar Open and his improvements in the previous 12 months have been among the best on the ATP Tour.

Other players on the Monte-Carlo Masters entry list include Taylor Fritz, Daniil Medvedev, Casper Ruud, Daniil Medvedev, Andrey Rublev, and Frances Tiafoe.
