The 2025
Libema Open in Den Bosch will be played from June 9th to 15th, during the opening week of the grass-court season, and the
entry list for the tournament is public.
First held in 1990, the Dutch tournament has been a constant fixture on the
ATP Tour calendar since. 2020 and 2021 were the only years it was not played due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which disrupted tennis and sports worldwide.
Several great players have won the Libema Open title, including Lleyton Hewitt, Patrick Rafter, David Ferrer, and Richard Gasquet, whose superb career will finally come to an end at the 2025 French Open at Roland Garros in a few weeks.
Alex de Minaur is the defending champion since defeating
Sebastian Korda 6-2, 6-4 in the final. The Australian has committed to playing at the event once again and trying to make it back-to-back crowns.
While de Minaur is an excellent player on all surfaces and has improved on clay, especially since 2024, grass suits his playing style well, and defeating him in the Netherlands will not be easy for any player.
Korda also plans to return to the event. The 24-year-old has spoken in the past about how much he feels his game suits grass and thinks challenging for the Wimbledon title is not impossible.
Daniil Medvedev was the 2022 runner-up at the Libema Open. Incredibly for someone of the 2021 US Open champion's stature, he has not won a title since the 2023 Italian Open, two years ago this week.
An ATP 250 tournament like the Libema Open seems like Medvedev's best opportunity of breaking that barren run. The former world No. 1 retains a fiery edge, as shown
when he shushed the fans at the 2025 Italian Open.
Arthur Fils, one of the sport's most exciting young talents, is also on the entry list. Although grass has not been the 20-year-old's favorite surface in the early stages of his career, he will develop more experience on it in the coming years.
Fils generated headlines at the Italian Open by beating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the round of 32. Afterward,
the pair had a heated exchange at the net about Tsitsipas hitting the Frenchman when he closed the net during the second set.
Hubert Hurkacz will hope the Libema Open is the start of a successful grass-court swing for him. The Pole reached the semifinal of the 2021 Wimbledon Championships, falling at that stage to Matteo Berrettini in four sets.
Hurkacz had struggled with injuries and form issues before the Italian Open. That made his run to the quarterfinals on the clay-courts of Rome surprising, especially since he usually plays his weakest tennis on the dirt.
Karen Khachanov is another notable name on the Libema Open entry list. The Australian Open and US Open semifinalist can play competently on any surface, evidenced by his former quarterfinalist status at Wimbledon.
2023 champion and home favorite
Tallon Griekspoor,
Ugo Humbert,
Jordan Thompson,
Alexei Popyrin, and Flavio Cobolli are among the other players on the Libema Open entry list.
