Holger Rune and Stan Wawrinka had a very tense moment after their match at the 2022 Paris Masters.

It was a battle of the youth and experience in the first round of the 2022 Paris Masters. A 19-year-old Rune took on a 37-year-old Wawrinka. The Swiss player is almost twice the Dane's age, and he felt like the difference in their maturity showed in this match.

Over the past few months, Rune was involved in an argument with Casper Ruud at the Roland Garros and he also made headlines after his match against Cameron Norrie at the US Open.

During his final match against Felix Auger-Aliassime in Basel, Rune got into a heated exchange with umpire Mohamed Layhani when he was not happy about one of his calls.

Only a few days later, he took on Wawrinka at the 2022 Paris Masters, and the 37-year-old Swiss player didn't like how his opponent acted throughout the match.

It was a proper battle that either player could have won. Wawrinka won the first set of the match after saving a break point and then using one of his chances to break. He won the opening set 6-4.

But then the youth prevailed. Rune saved two match points in the second set to win it 7-5, and he saved another match point to force a tie-break in the third set. He ultimately won that tie-break to win the match 4-6, 7-5, 7-6(3) and reach the second round of the 2022 Paris Masters.

Players battled it out for two hours and 32 minutes, and maybe also in the heat of the battle and after losing a close match, Wawrinka felt like he would share some advice with Rune. The experienced Swiss advised his opponent to "stop acting like a baby."

"My advice to you is that you stop acting like a baby on court."
