Holger Rune was incredibly angry at umpire Mohamed Layhani for missing a 'let' call during a crucial point in his match against Felix Auger-Aliassime at the 2022 Swiss Indoors in Basel.

Both of these players had a great tournament to find themselves in the final, battling it out for the ATP 500 trophy in Basel. Auger-Aliassime was the third seed, and he recorded some impressive wins on his way to the final.

The Canadian player lost his first set at the tournament against home wild card Marc-Andrea Huesler, but since then, he won all the sets that he played, beating Huesler, Miomir Kecmanovic, Alexander Bublik, and even the top-seeded Carlos Alcaraz.

Rune, on the other hand, hasn't lost a set in the entire event. He beat the seventh-seeded Alex de Minaur to start the tournament, before also dispatching Ugo Humbert, Arthur Rinderknech, and Roberto Bautista Agut.

In the final, there was a lot to play for, and it was obvious to the fans present as well. Auger-Aliassime was the better player at the start of the match, and he was able to win the first set 6-3.

The second set was very close, and even though Rune had three break points, he couldn't use any of his chances. That came back to hurt him, as he faced a total of four break points at 5-5, and immediately got broken.

But it was in that game when he wasn't happy about one of the calls from the umpire, Mohamed Lahyani. According to the young Dane, the Swedish umpire missed a crucial let call, and he was incredibly angry during the changeover.

"What the f**k are you doing? You must be f***ing kidding me. How can you not see this? Man, it’s 40 all something, five all (in the) second set, final, you made the biggest mistake man, and you don’t even look at me. You're too proud to look at me. You're like a king."

Lahyani responded that he would have called 'let' if he saw it, but he didn't. Rune continued to voice his anger, as it ultimately meant that he lost the match in two sets, 3-6, 5-7.

"So this is fair? With automatic line calls, what is the umpire doing if not keeping an eye on this?"
