Stan Wawrinka will reunite with former coach Magnus Norman after parting ways with Daniel Vallverdu following the US Open.

Following the US Open, Wawrinka displayed some pretty strong tennis, and he has since announced that Magnus Norman is back in command. It's unknown if the Swedish coach had anything to do with the improvement in level, but Wawrinka did have some of his best tennis performances while under Norman's tutelage. In 2016, Norman even received the ATP Coach of the Year award.

“There was change after the US Open" explained Wawrinka after beating Casper Ruud in round one of the Swiss Indoors in Basel.

"I decided to stop working with Dani Vallverdu and, with Magnus, we are looking for the best possible balance to write a final chapter. He is the one who knows my game best, the one who has helped me the most in my career. He will take care of the offseason and the biggest tournaments including those of the Grand Slam. For the rest, we will discuss." - concluded Wawrinka.

He played perhaps some of his finest tennis in a very long time in round one, as the Norwegian had very little chance losing in two sets.
