Carlos Alcaraz and Casper Ruud are battling for their first Grand Slam title in the 2022 US Open final but still there's a lot of space for good sportsmanship.
For both players it would be a first Grand Slam title and also, the winner of this match will become a new world number 1 after the 2022 US Open. Carlos Alcaraz got an early lead in the match after breaking his opponent in the third game of the first set and despite a big fight on the court, his opponent, Casper Ruud showed great sportsmanship only a few games later.
The 19-years-old Spaniard was comfortably holding his lead and he was only two games away from winning the opening set when he led 4-3 and was about to serve. In an intense rally, Alcaraz played a short shot that was very difficult to get for the Norwegian.
Ruud ran all the way from the baseline and put the ball over the Spaniard that he eventually put in the net. However, before the Norwegian hit the ball, it bounced twice and so afterwards, he awarded the point to his opponent.
