Daniil Medvedev's priorities while he is away from the Tour lie elsewhere as he updated the fans of his whereabouts, and it was not to watch the Wimbledon men's final.

Medvedev did not compete at this year's Championships after Wimbledon imposed a ban on all Russian and Belarusian players over the actions of their governments in leading an invasion into Ukraine.

The controversial decision was not well received within tennis circles, and Medvedev, because of his nationality, was one of those affected by it. He missed out on playing at the grass-court major.

Novak Djokovic and Nick Kyrgios contested this year's Wimbledon final. The Serbian will attempt to defend his title and win his seventh Wimbledon, tying him with the legendary Pete Sampras.

Kyrgios, meanwhile, benefitted from a walkover after Rafael Nadal withdrew from their scheduled semifinal because of injury. The Australian will thus get to taste his first Grand Slam final in singles.

The Wimbledon men's final is usually one of the most watched tennis matches in the world and draws a large crowd both inside and outside Centre Court. And this year it will be no different.

But Medvedev will not be among those watching from the television and showed where his allegiance lies while the match was underway. The Russian World No. 1 instead spent his Sunday watching the Formula 1 race in Austria on TV.

In an Instagram post, Mevedev captioned "Perfect Sunday," taking a sly dig at the organizers for having stated before the tournament that he would have played if he had been allowed to.

"If I can play, I'm going to be happy to play in Wimbledon. I love this tournament. If I cannot play -- well, I'm going to try to play other tournaments and prepare well for next year if I have the chance to play."
