Frances Tiafoe shut down questions about Nick Kyrgios during the press conference after his third-round win at the 2022 US Open.

Tiafoe matched his best result at the US Open when he reached the fourth round for the third consecutive year. The 24-year-old American has been playing really well at Flushing Meadows this year so far when he defeated Marcos Giron, Jason Kubler, and Diego Schwartzman without losing a set.

In the fourth round, Tiafoe will take on the second-seeded Rafael Nadal and he will hope to stun the 22-time Grand Slam champion.

After winning his third-round match, Tiafoe traditionally attended a press conference, during which he was asked various questions. At one point, he got asked about Nick Kyrgios, who he knows very well.

The American player spoke about how attractive Kyrgios is for the fans. But when asked whether he had some interesting story with the Australian, Tiafoe couldn't really think of anything.

"Me and Nick hang out a lot outside of tennis. Not so much now, but I don't really have a story to tell you. I think what he's doing is great, I think seeing him play so well is great."
"Most of the matches he's playing, he's packing out stadiums. He's got a huge match with Medvedev so I will be watching that. I like seeing him try and really give everything. I think he's really good for the game of tennis."

Tiafoe didn't have any problems answering that question, as sometimes, players are asked about their colleagues. However, a few moments later, he got another question about the 27-year-old Australian, and he made it clear that he didn't want to talk about other players but instead his result in New York.

"I'm here to talk about me being in the 4th round, not to talk about Nick Kyrgios."
