Alexander Bublik took on Frances Tiafoe in the third-round match at the 2022 Wimbledon, and things didn't go as he had anticipated.
After beating Marton Fucsovics and Dusan Lajovic in straight sets, the Kazakhstani player was set to take on another player who was yet to lose a set at this year's Wimbledon, Frances Tiafoe, who defeated Andrea Vavassori and Maximilian Marterer.
The two met in one of the most-anticipated third-round matches at the tournament because of their abilities to entertain crowds.
After winning the first set 6-3, Bublik didn't have much luck in the tie-breaks of the second and third set, and he found himself down 1-2 to Tiafoe in the fight for the fourth round at the 2022 Wimbledon.
On top of that, the start of the fourth set wasn't ideal either for Bublik as he got broken again and was losing already 0-3 in the fourth set. It seemed that he wanted to entertain the crowd in the fourth game of the fourth set after losing five consecutive games, hitting six underarm serves in that game.
The Kazakhstani player once again showed that he does these things to entertain the crowd, since he wasn't afraid to do it even when he faced a break point in the game.
It seemed to help him as he managed to win that game and, later in the set, get the break back to level the score a 4-4 and give himself a chance at winning.
He even had a break point in the ninth game of the fourth set; however, Tiafoe stepped up his game once more to win the match in four sets, 3-6, 7-6(1), 7-6(3), 6-4.
In the next round of the tournament, the American will play against Belgium's David Goffin, who overcame France's Ugo Humbert in the third round of the competition.
