Novak Djokovic has added another mind-boggling achievement to his resume as he equals Margaret Court's record for the highest number of Grand Slam titles won in singles.
Djokovic's road to this remarkable destination has not been an easy one. The Serbian hadn't won the US Open title since back in 2018, and of course there was a lot of controversy surrounding his inability to play the US Open last year because of his vaccination status.
As much as the journey has had its peaks and troughs, Djokovic has always felt ever-present when it comes to competing for these major titles, showing the longevity and dedication to the sport that feels unmatched on so many levels.
Roger Federer brought a lot to the sport in terms of his elegance, his class of character off the court, and his enviable brand of tennis on the court in addition. While Rafael Nadal brought brutality and intensity to dominate the red clay of Paris for many years.
However, Djokovic's attention to every detail, whether that would be nutrition and discipline in every aspect of his daily routines, have all led to creating the best version of himself when competing, even in the twilight years of his career.
Many people are surprised that Djokovic is still playing to this standard. John McEnroe was equally as surprised but hailed the Serbian for his dedication and commitment.
"Djokovic is one of the most remarkable athletes you will see in any sport in every way possible. The drive, the hunger, the will he still has after all of his achievements is crazy."
That is perhaps the most admirable part of Djokovic's success. Having achieved 24 Grand Slam titles, and still having the appetite for more success and continuing to squeeze absolutely everything out of what he has left in his career.
