The young Greek is yet to drop a set in Monte Carlo in the past two years as Stefanos Tsitsipas recorded another two-set victory at the 2022 Monte-Carlo Masters.

It was another very solid performance by Stefanos Tsitsipas at the Monte-Carlo Masters. This time, his opponent was Laslo Djere, who previously defeated Maxime Cressy and Lorenzo Sonego but couldn't take his chances against the third-seeded player in Monaco.

After Novak Djokovic's early exit from the tournament, the third seed's chances to defend his title increased, but he has some challengers in the draw too, and one of them was Laslo Djere from Serbia.

The Serbian was the first player to get a breakpoint in both sets; however, he failed to convert it on both occasions, while his opponent was more successful when having a chance to steal his opponent's serve.

In the first set, Tsitsipas had his first setpoint in the tenth game but failed to take his chance on winning the set. On the other hand, later in the 12th game, he didn't miss this opportunity again and won the first set 7-5 in 55 minutes.

In the second set, the Serbian player was the only one to have a breakpoint, but after he failed to get into the lead in the third game of the second set, both players comfortably held their service games as the set reached the tie-break.

There, Tsitsipas was almost unstoppable and won it 7-1 after mini-breaking his opponent three times. In the quarterfinals, the Greek will take on Diego Schwartzman, who is showing his masterclass on the clay once again in Monte Carlo.

One of the players that will probably want to challenge the Greek for the title is Alexander Zverev, who like Tsitsipas, has no problems cruising through the Monte-Carlo Masters draw.
