Stefanos Tsitsipas is just one match away from winning back-to-back titles at the Monte-Carlo Masters as the Greek will face Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in the final.

Last year, Stefanos Tsitsipas added one of the biggest ATP trophies he's ever won into his cabinet when he triumphed at the Monte-Carlo Masters without losing a set. This year, he lost one set on his way to the final, but is again only one match away from winning his second title in a row in Monte Carlo.

In his semifinal match, the Greek defeated Alexander Zverev 6-4, 6-2 in just 75 minutes, and he was really satisfied with his performance afterward. According to Tsitsipas, he was able to come up with good ideas and therefore beat the German.

“It was good. I don’t know whether the long match gave me some rhythm, but I was able to play good tennis today. I’m happy with the level I was able to execute and come up with some good ideas on the court.”

In the final, he will take on Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, who is having a great run in Monte Carlo as he also defeated world number 1, Novak Djokovic, on his way to the final. About his final opponent, Tsitsipas said:

“He’s on a good run, in a good rhythm. I’ve played him before, he’s a good opponent, I’ve had big battles against him and I’m going to try and be as ready as possible. I know he’s improved from before and I’m going to have that in the back of my head, to produce the best tennis that I can.”

The Greek is aware that his opponent significantly improved since the last time the two faced off, and that's something that he will keep in mind during their final clash at the 2022 Monte-Carlo Masters.
