Sinner Stops Sensational Dimitrov To Win His Third Title Of 2024 In Miami

Jannik Sinner has added another big trophy to his tally as the Italian emerged victorious from the 2024 Miami Open final against Grigor Dimitrov.

The Italian had a very good time in Miami in the past, making the final two times. One of those was a few years ago when Hubert Hurkacz beat him. The other time was last year when Daniil Medvedev beat him, a debt Sinner paid back a few days ago when he crushed him in two sets.

That win put everyone on notice that the loss to Carlos Alcaraz in Indian Wells was a one-off, and Sinner still has it. He would confirm it in the final, in the final, against Grigor Dimitrov, who played spectacular tennis at the event. He actually ousted Alcaraz a few days ago, which ensured that Sinner would be favoured in all of his matches moving forward.

The start of the final match was pretty decent for Dimitrov, as he knew that starting well was very important. A good start would give him confidence for the rest of the match, and he found his first break point early at 2-1. He didn't convert it because Sinner produced some amazing serves under pressure to save it.

The next game would prove the crucial one from the match because the Italian immediately created his own break chances. He returned spectacularly on break point to put Dimitrov in a very tough spot, and the Bulgarian crumbled.

Sinner missed out on a chance to make it 5-2, but he still remained calm and finished off the opening set 6-3. Dimitrov never found that early pressure he had against Sinner as the Italian slowly overpowered him. The second set started well for Dimitrov, but he eventually crumbled under the pressure again, falling behind 1-4.

The Italian added another break and then finished it off for the final score of 6-3, 6-1, which is just impressive. He finished with 4 aces and 15 winners.
