Holger Rune met the wrath of a furious fan who recently watched an episode of the newly-released second season of Break Point.
Rune, who is among the newest stars to feature in the latest installment of the tennis documentary on Netflix, appears in the second episode of Season 2, titled "The Future Is Yours," where his friendship and rivalry with Carlos Alcaraz is magnificent and narrated in detail.
Moreover, the feud between Holger Rune and Stan Wawrinka, which stemmed from their chaotic first-round match at the 2022 Paris Masters, is covered in the episode. Rune memorably saved three match points to defeat the Swiss one-hander and went on to win the whole tournament.
A cold exchange ensued at the net, with Wawrinka accusing Rune of behaving like a "baby" on the court. Those words hit a nerve and stuck with Rune until their next clash at the 2023 Indian Wells Masters.
Although Wawrinka avenged that defeat from Bercy, they had another frosty handshake at the net after the match. Rune commented on their dramatic series of events after their matches on Break Point.
"You know, old people like to give young people advice. That's how life is, sometimes old people gotta accept young players are people coming up and challenging them."- Rune as quoted in a fan post from Break Point
However, one incensed fan took to X (formerly Twitter) and criticized Rune for his shameful comments in the episode, saying, "Just watched a few bits of breakpoint calling Wawrinka an old guy absolutely shameful @holgerrune2003 what the f**k do you think of your self he is a 3 time grand slam champion.!!!"
The same fan continued, "I bet you wouldn’t even win a single slam in your entire career with this kind of cheap attitude." The Danish star saw the comment and responded amiably, "Relax , breathe . We are friends."
