Roger Federer will be in London on Tuesday for a special ceremony that will honour his achievements at
Wimbledon.
Federer is going to be honoured a few times this year.
He was already honoured in Halle, an event which he won 10 times in his career. He will be honoured at Wimbledon as well, though he didn't win the trophy 10 times there, he triumphed eight times.
The last final he played there was against Novak Djokovic a few years ago, and the Serbian will have a chance to equal Federer's number of wins at SW19 this year.
Despite that, Wimbledon will always be synonymous with Federer. He was utterly dominant at the event for many years, with many considering him the best grass player of all time.
He will be honoured on Tuesday with a special ceremony on the Centre Court before the first match is set to be played. Serena Williams was also invited, according to reports, but opted against travelling to the United Kingdom because of her pregnancy.
She was in Den Bosch a few weeks ago watching her sister Venus.
This won't be the final time Federer will be honoured this year, as he will have
a special ceremony at the Shanghai Masters in the coming months. He might get a few more ceremonies with the Laver Cup, the US Open, or the Swiss Indoors in Basel as potential candidates.
It's the first full year without Federer on the ATP Tour as he retired last year. Even without tennis in his life, Federer has been keeping busy.
He was a co-chair of the Met Gala earlier this year.
He was in Miami for the Formula One race there and also traveled to Africa for his foundation. He also remains an ambassador for tennis as he opened tennis courts in South London not too long ago.
His last spotting in public sighting was at a Coldplay concert in Switzerland.
