Roger Federer retired from tennis two years ago, but his legacy will remain forever as he is set to be celebrated in an upcoming documentary on Prime Video.

On Tuesday, the Amazon video streaming service announced that tennis fans will relive the Swiss' emotional last few days of his farewell in a new documentary titled Federer: Twelve Final Days, which will air on its platform on June 20th.

In his tribute, a teaser trailer features the former World No. 1 behind the cameras narrating his famous retirement message, which he scripted and shared to social media to officially announce his retirement before his final tournament at the Laver Cup.

In the same trailer, Fedederer's wife, Mirka, also discusses the remarkable journey that sealed the 20-time Grand Slam champion's place in tennis history.

"Today, Prime Video announced a June 20 premiere date and released a teaser trailer for Federer: Twelve Final Days, a feature-length documentary chronicling the final 12 days of Roger Federer’s professional tennis career. "

But, Federer's late 30s were marred by knee injuries that required multiple surgeries, and he was relieved that he had to call time on his playing career. He assembled his biggest rivals, including Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray, for his coronation at the 2022 Laver Cup.

Federer teamed up with Nadal in his last pro match in doubles for Team Europe but lost to the American pair of Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock. Team World went on to clinch a maiden Laver Cup that year.

The memories from that autumn at London's O2 Arena, where there were tears and smiles as Federer hung up his racket in the presence of his family and fans, will be captured in the documentary through the lens of Academy Award-winning director Asif Kapadia and his co-director Joe Sabia.
