After getting close to his second Grand Slam title, Daniil Medvedev's 2022 season has been halted by an injury.

Daniil Medvedev started his 2022 season with a stunning performance at the Australian Open, where he got very close to winning his second Grand Slam title. Yet, he was ultimately overwhelmed by Rafael Nadal, who staged an impressive comeback to win 2-6, 6-7(5), 6-4, 6-4, 7-5.

The Russian then reached the semifinals at the Mexican Open, the third round in Indian Wells, and the quarterfinals at the Miami Open, before announcing that he would undergo a hernia surgery.

After the surgery, Medvedev shared some pictures, and it looks like the Russian is on the right track to recover from the injury as soon as possible. Before the surgery, he indicated a recovery time of one to two months, but as always, that can drastically change.

Now, he's enjoying some time off the courts, and one of Daniil's favorite activities seems to be playing games. The Russian is known as one of the gamers on the ATP Tour, along with the likes of Nick Kyrgios, who also likes to spend time off the tennis court by playing some games.

On his Instagram story, Medvedev shared a video of him playing with a funny title, saying that currently, he's able to work out only on PlayStation. However, that will likely soon change as the Russian will gear up for his comeback.

"It's been a week since my surgery has been done. I'm feeling way better. Will start easy workouts in a few days, now only PS workouts possible."

With the way he has played at the start of the 2022 season, it wouldn't be unreasonable to think that he could soon challenge for his second Grand Slam title once again, but first, he needs to properly recover after the surgery.
