Novak Djokovic will take on Lorenzo Musetti at the 2024 Monte-Carlo Masters, and it's a perfect chance for him to avenge the loss he suffered to him exactly one year ago.
Djokovic and Musetti have played some really interesting matches on clay in the past, with the Roland Garros match a few years ago chiefly among them. It wasn't the only match they played, though; there is another one, and that was played at the ATP Masters 1000 event in Monte Carlo.
The Italian has been playing on a pretty good level this year, earning some good results across the board. He played well in the United States and is now looking solid on clay as well, so it will be a complicated match for Djokovic. He himself won his first match in Monte Carlo in spectacular fashion, but this won't be so easy.
Head-to-head:
The reason why it won't be so easy is the match they played last year in Monaco. It was a match where Musetti outsmarted Djokovic to win the match. It might sound tough to believe but he truly did outplay and beat him fair and square.
It doesn't mean he'll do it again but he'll certainly complicate things. His style also gave the Serbian some trouble in the past so it's not hard to imagine it happening again.

Prediction
I don't think the Italian will win this time around because Djokovic put in a lot of work leading up to this event, and he's seen enough of Musetti by now to have a really good tactics against him.
I do think the Italian will win a set because he's been really solid. I don't think that it will be enough to win the match, but it should be very exciting.
Prediction: Novak Djokovic to win in three sets.
