Nick Kyrgios is a special figure on the ATP Tour, not-so-often-seen type of a tennis player, and that's why man compare him to NBA's Dennis Rodman.
Throughout his ten-year professional tennis career, the Australian proved many times that he's one of the best players on the ATP Tour. On top of that, he's also one of the best entertainers, and during his long hiatus, many call for Kyrgios' return.
However, that is not yet happening, as Kyrgios remains sidelined, and most probably, we won't see him step onto the tennis court until 2024. That's also one of the reasons, why the Australian now has time to dedicate his time to different activities than hitting a ball on the tennis court, and one of those was also an appearance on Mike Tyson's podcast.
During a recent appearance on Hotboxin' With Mike Tyson, the 28-year-old was asked by podcast's co-host Sebastian-Joseph Day about "how does it feel to be known or compared to as the Dennis Rodman of tennis."
Podcast's host, Mike Tyson, who was also special in his own sense when he stepped into the boxing ring, immediately chimed in, saying that, according to him, the comparison is "cool." The 57-year-old boxing legend is often seen courtside, and last year, he also praised America's tennis phenom Coco Gauff, who won her first Grand Slam title this year.
Following up on Tyson's answer, Kyrgios, who seemingly found his successor in Ben Shelton, also found the comparison cool, saying that he always liked athletes who did it their own way, such as Dennis Rodman or Allen Iverson.
"I reckon it's cool. I kind of feel like my athletes are Allen Iverson, Dennis Rodman, guys like that, who did it their own way. Dennis Rodman, I like that."
