Jannik Sinner's New Year's resolutions are vast, and it will be interesting to see whether he can emulate some of his achievements from last season and do even better.

Sinner performed impeccably in 2023, winning his first Masters 1000 title at the Canadian Open and securing Italy's first Davis Cup triumph in 47 years. The 22-year-old also equaled the previous best-ranking of an Italian man of World No. 4 - last achieved by Adriano Panatta.

Sinner scored elusive wins over Daniil Medvedev and Novak Djokovic - the latter in back-to-back tournaments at the end of the season, one of which he saved three successive match points.

Because of visible progress and constant improvement in his game, he is already poised to win his first Grand Slam in 2024. Even Djokovic, the most dominant champion on tour, believes Sinner is one of three youngsters who will carry the sport for many years in the future.

Sinner is not willing to wait longer to achieve his lifelong dreams. He has already set his sights on winning his first Grand Slam in 2024 and features in our Top 5 favorites list to win the Australian Open.

"In 2024, I would like to win my first Slam title, but I don't forget the Masters 1000s that also matter so much. I want to stabilize my ranking and absolutely return to Turin for the ATP Finals. The Olympic Games are on my calendar; it will be very particular to return to Roland Garros for the Olympic tournament."

In an interview with La Repubblica, Sinner listed his goals for the new season and is not just limiting himself to reign at the majors. He recognized the Masters 1000 tournaments to be of high priority. Moreover, he wants to achieve a semblance of stability in his ranking.

Sinner has been tipped to become World No. 1, a distinction that has eluded Italian men in the past. Having missed the Olympic Games 2021 in quite contentious circumstances, the 2024 showpiece in Paris is already on his mind, and he is contemplating reuniting with countryman Lorenzo Sonego in doubles.

"Let's see if I will also play in doubles; I had a lot of fun with Lorenzo Sonego during the Davis Cup finals. We will try to play together every now and then when the schedule allows it."
