Boris Becker was closely following the 2022 Roland Garros, and he was sad to see the injury that happened to Alexander Zverev.

Alexander Zverev was on the verge of his biggest career triumph when he took on Rafael Nadal in the semifinal of the 2022 Roland Garros, and that's when disaster struck for the German player, one that ended not just his semifinal match at the French Open.

He has torn several ligaments in his foot, and as a result, he will miss out on a lot of action, and probably also a chance to become the world no. 1 on the ATP Tour. With Zverev now sidelined, many fellow current and former pros spoke about his injury.

Speaking on Eurosport, according to German publication Bild, Mischa Zverev confirmed that Boris Becker followed his younger brother's journey at Roland Garros and he was very saddened by what had happened.

"Boris said he followed what was happening at the tournament and wishes Sascha all the best and a quick and good recovery."

Only recently, Becker was jailed for two and a half years for hiding £2.5m worth of assets, when filing for bankruptcy in June 2017. Currently, the former German player is in the United Kingdom, serving time, but he will be deported to Germany where he will serve the majority of time as a non-UK citizen.

Mischa Zverev, for whom it was certainly heartbreaking to see his brother suffer on the tennis court, also said that he's confident that the injury will make his brother even stronger.

According to former German player, his brother will improve his maturity, calmness, and self-confidence while away from the tennis court, as the injury hiatus will certainly test his mental strength.

"I think he will come back even stronger, even more mature, even calmer, more self-confident."
