Ahead of the first Grand Slam of this season, players will compete in a new mixed event called the United Cup, and the date for the anticipated match between Nick Kyrgios and Rafael Nadal was revealed.

The United Cup is a new team competition. It will be held for the first time at the start of the 2023 season, but the tournament will start already in 2022. The event will be held in Brisbane, Perth, and Sydney from December 29th, 2022, through January 8th, 2023.

Players will compete for their share of $15 million in prize money and up to 500 ranking points for their efforts. Six groups were created out of the initial 18 participating countries, and now the schedule of play is also known.

Nick Kyrgios' Australia and Rafael Nadal's Spain are set to meet in Group D as the tie between Spain and Australia is scheduled on January 2nd, 2023, during the night session. Kyrgios and Nadal should start at 7 p.m. in Sydney (GMT+11).

But that isn't the only interesting match scheduled. In Brisbane, Matteo Berrettini will take on Casper Ruud on January 3rd, 2023, as Hubert Hurkacz will meet Stan Wawrinka on the same day and in the same arena during the night session.

Stefanos Tsitsipas and Grigor Dimitrov will be set for a clash in Perth on December 29th, 2022, as Borna Coric and Diego Schwartzman will meet only two days later. The Greek will then also play against Belgium's David Goffin.

In Sydney, Kyrgios and Nadal will both play against Cameron Norrie. The Australian will play his match on December 29th, 2022, and the Spaniard two days later.

Taylor Fritz and Alexander Zverev will face off in Sydney on January 2nd, 2023, as Paula Badosa and Ajla Tomljanovic will also meet one day later.
